Membership
Ephesians 2:19 "You are citizens along with all of God's holy people. You are members of God's family."
What's the difference between being a Christian and attending a church and being a member of a church family? The difference is the word "Commitment."
- I become a Christian by committing my life to Christ.
- I become a member of a church by committing myself to other Christians and being part of building the Kingdom of God.
I say, "That's going to be my church home where I'm going to give and be given to, where I'm going to serve and be served, where I'll love and be loved."
The Cowboy Church is open to anyone who meets the following qualifications:
- A member must have personal commitment of faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.
- A member must have been baptized by immersion after faith in Christ as testimony of Salvation.
- A member must have attended The Cowboy Church Introduction and Discover the Trail to Membership Class.
- Membership may be established in the following ways:
- Transfer of Membership from a like faith church: Candidates who are members in good standing of another church of like faith ask their previous church to transfer their membership.
- Statement: Candidates may join by affirming that they are baptized (immersed) believers in The Lord Jesus Christ, holding to the historic teachings of Christianity.
- Baptism: Candidates accepting Christ as their Savior and requesting baptism by immersion will be accepted as members upon baptism.
- All candidates for membership shall give a verbal testimony of their conversion, baptism, walk with Christ and acceptance of the church's mission statement to the pastor or designated member of leadership.
