Statement of Faith

What We Believe

Statement of Faith

These beliefs summarize the foundation of faith and ministry at Cowboy Church.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s perfect guidebook for life, fully inspired and carrying supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

Scripture: John 17:17; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21

The Trinity

We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Scripture: Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-4; Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14

God the Father

We believe in God the Father, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love, who hears prayer and saves through Jesus Christ.

Scripture: Exodus 3:14; John 3:16-17; John 4:24; James 1:17

God the Son

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, born of the virgin Mary, sinless, crucified, risen, ascended, interceding, and returning.

Scripture: Isaiah 7:14; John 1:14; Acts 1:10-11; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 4:14-16

God the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, sanctifies, empowers, preserves, helps, teaches, and guides all who believe in Jesus Christ.

Scripture: John 14:26; John 16:7-15; Romans 8:14-17; Ephesians 1:13-14

People

We believe all people need God’s grace and that those who personally trust Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and saved by grace.

Scripture: Romans 3:22-24; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-9

The Church

We believe in the universal church and the local church, where believers gather for worship, ministry, evangelism, discipleship, and fellowship.

Scripture: Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Colossians 1:18; Matthew 28:20

Christ-Like Conduct

We believe followers of Christ should bring glory to God, serve others, steward what God has entrusted, pray, give thanks, and display the fruit of the Spirit.

Scripture: Galatians 5:22-24; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; Colossians 3:12-17

Baptism & Communion

We believe baptism and communion are outward symbols of inward spiritual truth, given by Jesus for believers to remember and proclaim His work.

Scripture: Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29

The Last Things

We believe in the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the body, final judgment, and eternal reward or separation.

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 2 Corinthians 5:10; 2 Peter 3:7
