LET THE CHAOS BEGIN Every Wednesday in July! The Bible begins with an image of chaos. Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was form less and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. At this point, the initial ingredients of creation exist in states of formlessness, emp tiness, and darkness. In the Bible, waters are often used to symbolize chaos and disorder. Soon God’s creative acts will transform the chaos into order and beauty. But initially, creation exists in a state of mayhem. And where is God? He is over the waters. He is above it all. In these chaotic times, we need to be reminded that our God is above the chaos. This truth is lived out in the words and actions of Jesus. In the Gospels, we learn that…-Jesus is our Strength in chaos-Jesus cares for us in times of chaos-Jesus saves us from the chaos that we create-Jesus is our Peace in chaos-Jesus removes chaos from our hearts The One who walks on water, exists above the chaos, and invites us to a life of peace that is built upon our relationship with Him; not upon our present situation. This VBS is all about the fact that Jesus is our Peace! There will also be loads of chaotic fun, with chaotic snacks, games, crafts, and more! Thank you for choosing Camp Chaos VBS!
